This special ceramic urn is made in a modern pottery workshop, where craftsmanship and love for work play a central role. Hence this mini urn from ceramic is of the highest quality.

Our hand-painted ceramic decorative urns are hardly recognizable as an urn due to the refined decorations and the shape, which makes them very suitable as an ornamental urn at home.

Special own decorations are possible on request (such as an image referring to the interest / pastimes of the deceased).

Workshop, Painting and Baking Process

Paint powder

For the mini urns, special paints have been developed based on our own recipe, which, in combination with a glossy transparent glaze, give the urn decoration a warm appearance.

The brushes are also subject to special requirements in order to be able to work with them in great detail.

Painting a mini urn

Painting such fine decorations requires the utmost concentration from the artist.

Glazing

During the glazing the decoration disappears under a white powder layer (actually a kind of glass powder). The powder is dissolved in water and carefully sprayed onto the earthenware with a glaze sprayer in the right thickness.

The baking process

After the glazing there is a drying time of a few days. The oven is then filled and the baking process follows a temperature of 1050 to 1250 degrees Celsius (depending on the type of urn). The white glaze powder melts and forms, as it were, a transparent glass layer to protect the decoration, which also becomes more intense in color.
